About Me.

Lasagna, Slow: an instructional sonnet (2021) by Daniel Zomparelli

What you will need: the way depression

rounds our bodies, and this too

is love, crushed tomatoes, garlic, basil,

ricotta, mozzarella, ways to stay.

Start here, where garlic pressed into you, oil crackles, I wanted to say

this is about the time it takes for me to our two cans of tomatoes

crushed,

stir basil, wait. Nostalgia is a time construct you can't count in pasta

sheets, layer. Cheese is the quickest way to a man's heart; melt.

Cook for thirty minutes at 350, let me tell you why this is how i say

I love you, because bubbling over I never was good at spoken

words.
